Angela Williams

President

Motto:  I didn’t get here by myself.

 

Ms. Angela Williams is a respected energy specialist with over thirty years of professional experience in upstream and downstream Energy and Operational Accounting, joint-ventures, contract review, and IT Project Management. Her professional career includes tenure at several Fortune 500 companies where she led and helped to implement agile systems that were delivered on time and under budget for a better end user experience.

Angela is also the Founder and First President of the Houston Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Alumni Association (HHBCUAA), a non-profit 501 c3 corporation formed to collectively fund-raise for college scholarships. Through grassroots efforts, she led the inaugural Executive Leadership Team of HHBCUAA from one Houston based Alumni chapter to over fifteen Houston based Alumni Chapters. They awarded several thousand dollars in scholarships and the organization continues to grow under new Leadership.

Ms. Williams is also a champion in helping young adults and youth in their personal and Christian growth. She is a former Young Adult Ministry Leader and Church Administrator.  She has also volunteered with the Junior Achievement, Posse Foundation and Special Olympics through her employers.  Angela believes that in life one should take the time to help others see their potential. She believes that your good character should speak for you even when you are not in the room.

 Through ANCHOR, Angela prays that the simple act of helping to provide youth and others the opportunities to learn and to grow will challenge them to become more inquisitive about academia and to help them to achieve their dreams.

Ms. Williams is a proud native of the Mississippi Delta. She graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration- Accounting major.  She also has a Masters of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University and a Masters of Community Development from Prairie View A&M University.

Gloria Bingham

Vice-President

Gloria Bingham is a recognized expert in Call Center Operation and Customer Service.  With more than 35 years in Customer Service, she has proven executive leadership in the public and private sectors. She has provided oversight to startup and established organizations.

Ms. Bingham was one of five members who created Houston’s 311 system and is given credit for bringing this complicated system online with the expressed intent of providing easy access, superior customer services to the citizens of Houston and one stop reporting for non-emergency services.

Her work earned Houston international recognition as “the model city that did it right” While traveling and speaking nationally on government call centers options, she has been featured on the covers of several magazines to include Government Success Magazine, Hewlett Packard Government Solutions, Texas Technology and served as one of the keynote speakers on Houston’s 311 implementation at the Department of justice in 2003. Ms. Bingham participated and contributed to many case studies and some of her work spotlights her contributions at Harvard Kennedy School, John F. Kennedy School of Government, which resulted in spotlighting her in the released publication of 311: The Next Wave/ The Nine Imperatives for leadership of 311 Enabled Government.

Ms. Bingham is a graduate of Jackson State University with a degree in Business Management. After leaving City Government, she has spent the last eleven years as a Health Care Executive in Revenue Cycle. 

Ms. Bingham has been recognized many times throughout her career, but the greatest accolade she believes is being able to serve. In her spare time, she volunteers with her school district at many functions and believes that Anchor will allow her to expand her talents to serve the children and community in a positive manner.
